Welcome
to Quick Checksm,
Bangor Hydro´s online calculator which lets you, our residential
customer, perform a "quick check" of your daily electricity
use.
Quick
Checksm is easy to use. Our monthly statements show
a column labeled "Energy Comparison," with your "KWH Per Day"
use for this month (as well as last month and one year ago).
To
use Quick Checksm, your browser must have JavaScript
enabled. A version 4.0+ browser is recommended.
INSTRUCTIONS
First, once you have a copy of the bill you wish to check,
you´ll enter the following information on the next screen:
- Number
of Adults in your family (age 13 and older)
- Number
of Children in your family (age 12 and under)
- Your
primary home heating system
(If you use electric heat, you´ll be asked how many
rooms have electric heat registers in them.)
- Whether
or not you use an electric water heater
- Whether
or not you use an electric clothes dryer
With
that information, point and click on the "Quick Checksm"
button. You´ll be shown a range of typical kiloWatt Hours
(kWh) per day of electrical use based on your answers. This is
a general estimate based on our research of our consumer averages,
not a precise evaluation of your specific home electricity consumption.
RESULTS
If the amount of KWH per Day on your billing statement is
significantly higher than the range Quick Checksm reports,
call Bangor Hydro and we´ll review your energy usage with you.
