The Hancock County Reliability Project (HCRP) is a planned 14 mile, 115 kV transmission line that will create a redundant and higher capacity connection to Hancock County. It includes a proposed substation in the southern portion of Trenton, and will create a significant improvement to electric reliability in Hancock County. The route selected is approximately 70% co-located with existing lines. Those existing lines will continue to operate.
Permitting/Construction Update:
Bangor Hydro (BHE) has received all necessary permits and land rights required to build the project. BHE began clearing and line construction last fall. BHE selected Three Phase Line Construction to build the line and Cianbro to build the substation. You may contact Lisa Martin, Project Manager at (207) 941-6635 or Steve Sloan, Permitting Manager at (207) 949-0205 with questions or concerns about construction. The line should be in service by the end of 2008.
