What methods of payment are accepted?

You can pay your utility bill using Visa, MasterCard or Discover. You may also use a debit card with the Visa or MasterCard logo or you may use your checking account.

You can make your payment on line by visiting us at www.bhe.com.

To make a payment by phone call toll free at 1-800-499-6600, choose option 2 and follow the prompts to make your payment. Please be sure to remain on the line until you receive your confirmation number.

Is an email address required to make a payment on line?

An entry in the email address box is required to complete an on line payment.

If you do not have an email address or do not wish to receive email confirmation of your payment, please enter an email formatted address such as payment@email.com

When is my payment processed?

All payments made by 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on business days will be credited to your Bangor Hydro utility account by the next business day. The payment amount and associated fee will be debited from your account within three business days from the day the payment is entered.

Is there a cost associated with using BHePAY?

There is a separate, third party convenience fee of $3.50 for each payment. This fee will be deducted from your bank account as a separate transaction.

Are partial payments accepted?

Yes. Customers are able to enter the exact amount they wish to pay.

Can a payment be stopped or canceled?

If all 4 payment steps have been completed and the payment amount submitted a payment can not be stopped or canceled.

If there are not sufficient funds in the bank account to cover the submitted payment amount, the transaction will be returned to Bangor Hydro and processed in the same manner as a returned check. The returned check fee is $5.00 .

Will my account and payment method information be stored in BHePAY?

No. For security purposes, information will not be stored for future payments. You will need to enter the information each time you make a payment.

What are the browser requirements?

In order to use BHePAY you must be using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and above, Firefox or Google Chrome. In addition, JavaScript and cookies need to be turned on in order for continuity to be kept between pages..
